Wisconsin man killed, three others injured by drunk driver

He was just 19 years old when his life ended this past weekend. WKBT in La Crosse reports that a Janesville man has been charged with homicide by intoxicated driving in the early morning crash.

Three other people were injured in the violent collision at 2:49 on Sunday morning at an intersection. People said a Chevrolet van was going south and making a left turn when it was broadsided by a speeding car.

The man who was killed was a passenger in the van. He was thrown from the vehicle by the impact of the collision and was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The 61-year-old driver of the van was pinned inside her vehicle.

A 22-year-old male passenger in the Chevrolet Malibu car was taken to a nearby hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital, however his injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.

It's possible in this case and in similar cases for a wrongful death lawsuit to be filed. In a wrongful death lawsuit, plaintiffs allege that the victim was killed because of negligent behavior or because of wrongdoing by another person.

Many wrongful death lawsuits spring from car accidents in which a negligent or reckless driver causes the death of another.

These lawsuits are often filed by family members or spouses who have lost a loved one.

There are strict deadlines and filing requirements involved in a wrongful death suit. Talk to a trusted, knowledgeable advisor about your options in a difficult time.
