Suffering a work accident can be devastating for hard-working Wisconsin residents. Both physical and financial hardships are often the result after such a serious work injury. Fortunately, however, when most on-the-job injuries occur workers have the right to file for worker's compensation benefits to help with the financial difficulties that can come from such a work accident.
One Wisconsin worker who suffered a horrific work accident is now doing the best he can to recover from the serious head injury that he suffered. He worked as a crane operator and was lifting 52-ton concrete beams while working on a barge on the date of the accident. Everything seems to be going smoothly until just prior to 9 a.m., when the man's life changed forever.
That is when the crane that the man was operating collapsed and completely tipped over. The crane fatally struck a truck driver who was on the scene at the time of the incident. It flung the crane operator 10 feet away from the cab of the crane and caused significant head injuries to him.
The man came extremely close to dying in this work accident. Fortunately, he was able to survive thanks to the extensive medical care that he quickly received. He has had to go through extreme amounts of rehabilitation and therapy in the wake of his injuries. This is one reason why Wisconsin worker's compensation laws exist to provide benefits to injured workers so that they do not have to suffer undue hardships after being injured for simply doing their jobs.
