10-year-old killed by drunk driver in Albany

Many people make the decision to drink and drive and this can result in a car accident that takes the life of an innocent person. When people engage in this kind of behavior, there are no happy endings. The person who is the victim of a drunk driving accident faces months of therapy while the person behind the wheel must live with the consequences for the rest of their life. When a family loses a loved one to the actions of a drunk driver, there is a hole that can never be filled.

For the family of a 10-year-old boy, they will never be able to watch him grow up because he was killed recently in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. The boy was riding with his father and at least two siblings when their van was hit by a man’s truck that crossed the centerline. It is unknown whether the boy died at the scene. His father and siblings were injured and the state of their conditions was not released.

The drunk driver, a 21-year-old, has been arrested and will likely face charges for the fatal crash. Authorities did not release what the man’s blood-alcohol content level was. A passenger was inside the vehicle with him and both were injured.

Dealing with the loss of a loved one can be extremely difficult. There are a number of expenses that add to the burden, including hospital care, funeral costs and the burial itself. While seeking compensation will not bring the loved one back, it can help ease the financial challenges that families are left with. Talking with an experienced attorney, therefore, may be a good idea.
