Truck accident in Eastern Wisconsin injures 8

More often than not, trucking accidents leave death and destruction in their wakes. For this reason, most people cringe at the thought of being involved in any type of truck accident. Unfortunately, tractor-trailer accidents are a sadly common occurrence.

On the morning of Nov. 28, an accident occurred on Wisconsin 26, a couple of miles south of the town of Waupun. According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Department, the crash involved two vehicles, a van carrying eight passengers and a truck driven by a man from Watertown.

Reportedly, the truck driven by the Watertown man was traveling north on Wisconsin 26 as the van was traveling south. Officials say the truck crossed over the center line. And, while the van's driver attempted to avoid the truck by pulling well to the shoulder on the right side of the road, it wasn't enough.

Officials say the truck struck the left front side of the van, causing the van to overturn. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in this van-truck accident, but all eight passengers in the van were injured and were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals. According to reports, the driver of the truck was not injured. The Dodge County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the crash.

Because injuries sustained during a truck accident can be severe and may involve the neck, brain, or back, it's imperative that victims of such accidents understand their rights to personal injury claims under the law. When trucks are involved in injury causing accidents, the possible pursuit of personal injury claims also becomes more complex. Getting legal counsel early is always advised.
