Worker injured in work accident at Wisconsin golf course

Suffering serious injuries in a work accident is never an easy thing for Wisconsin workers to go through, especially if they become unable to work for a lengthy period of time. This is one reason why Wisconsin worker's compensation insurance exists. Such benefits can help an employee who suffers a work accident with the medical expenses associated with their injuries, not to mention help cover some of their income during the time they become unable to work.

One worker at a Wisconsin golf course was recently seriously injured after an explosion. The 35-year-old man suffered significant brain injuries after a 55-gallon barrel exploded. As a result of the explosion, the barrel's lid flew up and slammed into the man's head. He was later found lying in a pool of blood by a UPS driver.

According to authorities, the accident happened after the man attempted to open the drum, which was sealed, with an acetylene torch. Unfortunately, a small amount of oil inside the barrel was ignited by the use of the torch. After the man suffered his head injuries, he could have been laying on the ground for up to several hours before the UPS driver found him. The worker was taken to Regions Hospital for treatment, although there was not yet any updated word on his condition.

Wisconsin workers who suffer a work accident leading to injuries as this man did may find themselves worrying about how to cover their medical expenses and lost income while injured. Most, if not all, workers who are injured on the job will likely be eligible to file for workers' compensation benefits. These funds can help cover their medical bills and provide some reimbursement of their lost income during the time they cannot work.
