Serving Injured And Disabled Clients In Minnesota and Wisconsin

A work injury can occur on any Wisconsin job site

Although a job site may appear to be safe, all it may take is a matter of seconds for everything to fall apart. When this does occur, workers' safety can be put at serious risk. In many cases, the workers are able to escape by suffering a minor work injury. However, in other cases, as have been reported each year in Wisconsin, the consequences can be far worse.

A woman was recently killed when she was involved in an out-of-state construction accident. The 34-year-old victim was working in a trench in her efforts to assist in the installation of a new sewer line. While in the trench, the walls collapsed, burying the woman.

Iowa rescue officials were called to the scene to try and dig the woman out. Officials reported that it took over three hours to locate the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear at this time exactly what happened to cause the walls of the trench to collapse. However, as is the case in Wisconsin, when a serious work injury is suffered, it is likely that OSHA will get involved to conduct an investigation. Although this investigation may take a substantial amount of time, the victim's family may not have to wait for the conclusion of the investigation in order to make a claim for workers' compensation death benefits. These benefits may be able to assist the family as they try to raise the funds necessary to honor their lost loved one while also ensuring the family receives the help they need to press forward with their own lives.
