Harvest time in Wisconsin can lead to increased traffic accidents

The fall season can be a busy time for traffic in the state of Wisconsin. This is because of the large amount of farms in the state that are harvesting their crops and taking them to market or operating farm vehicles on the state’s roadways. Because of this, the chance of crashing into a farm vehicle increases during harvest time.

Automobile drivers should remember that farm vehicles have just as much right to be on the road as they do. They should be vigilant in their driving and pay attention at all times. Farm machinery tends to move much slower than routine traffic, so taking your attention off the road for even a couple of seconds may cause you to crash right into the back of one of them.

This seems to be the case for a driver in Grant County. The man received a ticket for inattentive driving and texting while driving after he crashed his rented convertible into the back of a trailer hauling liquid manure. The car accident caused gallons upon gallons of manure to be spilled all over the road.

The convertible’s driver sustained minor injuries in the crash while the tractor’s driver was reportedly shook up about the accident, but did not seek medical attention.

While it is important to be ever vigilant while driving, it is not possible to control other drivers around you. If you have been involved in an accident, especially one that was not your fault, you may wish to speak with a personal injury attorney about your case and your right to compensation.
