Motorcyclist pops a "wheelie," crashes into SUV in Wisconsin

It is not uncommon to hear motorcyclists in Lacrosse, Wisconsin complain about automobile drivers who drive carelessly and disregard the safety of bikers. However, the same may be said of bikers. There are those motorcyclists who do obey the law and are considerate of others, but there are also those that are reckless and act in such a way as to endanger their lives and the lives of others with whom they share the road.

This seems to be the case for an 18-year-old biker who was behaving negligently and caused a car accident in Marshfield, Wisconsin recently. As a result, the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is lucky his injuries were non-life threatening as he was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Authorities are still investigating the crash and are trying to figure out how fast the motorcycle was going at the time of the accident, but witnesses say it was going above the 25 mph speed limit. Witnesses also told authorities that the motorcycle had done a “wheelie” and that they heard the bike’s engine rev right before the crash. The motorcycle collided with an SUV that was turning left in front of the bike.

Although the 19-year-old driver of the SUV was uninjured, she may wish to seek advice from a lawyer regarding this accident. Doing so may ensure that she is properly compensated for the damages done to her vehicle because of the reckless manner in which this biker was driving his motorcycle.
