Wisconsin accident results in injury

Two Sturgeon Bay residents collided in a motor vehicle accident at the Wisconsin 42 and 57 intersection in Nasewaupee at about 7:27 a.m. on Oct. 1, the first of two accidents at that intersection that morning. The car accident resulted in one woman sustaining injuries.

According to a police report from the Door County Sheriff's Department, a woman was stopped at a stop sign in a Chevrolet, waiting to turn left from northbound Wisconsin 42 onto southbound Wisconsin 57. The woman saw a pickup truck cross the highway and thought that she had enough time to cross. She entered the intersection and was hit on the driver's side by a northbound Buick. Her vehicle came to rest in the median, while the Buick traveled across the southbound lanes of Wisconsin 57 and came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.

The woman was transported for treatment of her injuries, while the driver of the Buick was not reported to have sustained injuries. Both vehicles were reported to have been severely damaged. The woman received a citation for failing to yield. Two other vehicles were involved in an accident at the same site shortly after, at 7:46 a.m. The woman in that case received a citation for inattentive driving when she took her eyes off the road and rear-ended the vehicle in front of her. No injuries were sustained in that accident.

When someone is injured in an accident, a Wisconsin personal injury attorney may be able to assist by conducting an investigation into the events leading up to the accident. If a negligent action is determined to have been the cause, the attorney may pursue financial compensation for the damages that the victim incurred, such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
