Large recall issued by Land Rover

Wisconsin owners of certain Land Rovers might want to take precautions. Land Rover has issued a recall in order to minimize the injuries that a person suffers in case they are involved in a car accident in certain vehicles.

The recall is for certain versions of the Range Rover SUV and includes 2013 and 2014 models. The problem is that a connector can become loose, causing the airbags to potentially become inoperative. The connector involved in the recall is the Supplemental Restraint System connector that is located in the driver and front passenger seats. It is possible that it can become disconnected because of insufficient clearance that is in the housing of the connector. If the connector gets detached, the side airbags could cease to function, causing passengers in the front to be more susceptible to suffering injuries if they are involved in car accidents.

Nearly 4,000 vehicles are affected by the recall. Land Rover is currently notifying the owners of the vehicles that are associated with the recall. Dealers will be modifying the area by the connector in order to prevent the connector from getting detached. The company plans to offer the service free of charge.

If a person is injured due to a defect in the vehicle, the victim may decide to pursue a personal injury lawsuit that is based on product liability. Through such a course of action, the victim may be able to receive compensation to cover medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering. This type of lawsuit alleges that the injury resulted because of a design flaw, defective manufacturing process or defective warning.
