Police officer in Wisconsin crashes 3 times in a year

A police officer in Wisconsin was involved in three different accidents in just one year, according to recent reports. In one of the accidents, she was traveling at 62 miles per hour, breaking the speed limit, when she ran right into a different officer in another squad car. She did not have her seat belt on at the time of the wreck. Both she and the other officer had to be taken to the hospital with injuries as a result of the car accident.

In the other two accidents, it was also shown that she was breaking the speed limit when she crashed. One of them netted her a one-day suspension, but the third one -- in large part because it established such a trend -- got her a 20 day suspension.

The police chief said that her actions were unacceptable, that she should have been obeying the laws that the department is supposed to be enforcing. He also said that he gave her such a long suspension this time because he wanted to make sure that it acted as a message to all of the other officers so that they would not do the same thing.

On top of the suspension, the officer is going to have to take her training course again for driving a squad car. Only after passing the course will she be allowed behind the wheel.

Anyone who is injured, whether they are a civilian or another member of the police force, still has a right to seek compensation for their injuries if they were caused by an officer who was driving recklessly and putting them in danger.
