Drunk driver on trial for crash that killed 2 women

When a person makes the decision to drink and drive in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, he is not only putting himself in danger, but he is also risking the safety of those with whom he shares the road and the other passengers in his vehicle. Some people try to make the excuse that they were not aware of what they were doing after drinking, and didn’t mean to get behind the wheel. This is why it is important for drivers to have a plan in place and make sure they have a designated driver before they start drinking.

Had a 26-year-old woman done this two years ago, perhaps the deaths of two of her friends could have been prevented. The women, ages 31 and 33, were killed when the car rolled in June 2012.

After authorities conducted an investigation into the car crash, they determined that the woman had been drinking before she climbed behind the wheel. The woman admits that she had been drinking that night, but that she was not the one driving the vehicle when it crashed. Her blood alcohol content measured almost twice the legal limit at 0.157 percent when it was tested over five hours after the accident occurred. An expert said that it likely would have been around 0.239 percent at the time of the crash.

Although the woman is currently being tried in a criminal court, the families of the two women killed in the accident may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney regarding their right to compensation for the death of their loved ones.
