Industrial accident causes work injury to multiple employees

Industrial factory workers are protected through government-regulated safety procedures meant to minimize their risk and help keep them safe. When a work injury does occur, it can leave an employee in pain and in need of extensive medical treatment. A Wisconsin business owner who publicly ridiculed the stringent inspection and regulation of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and other government agencies was recently involved in a devastating situation that caused work injury to many of his employees.

The industrial accident took place at a well-known local metal foundry owned by the outspoken man. When a piece of the company machinery malfunctioned, eight employees subsequently had melted metal spewed across their backs and legs. Half of the workers who were covered in molten metal had to be transported to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

Reports reveal that the owner of the plant expressed his concern and relief that the injuries were not life-threatening. In the past, the plant had been cited almost $10,000 for violations determined by OSHA. Records did not indicate if an in-depth government investigation was expected to begin in order to uncover what may have caused the equipment to fail.

Many industrial accidents that result in work injury can be the result of inappropriate safety enforcements or poor equipment that interferes with keeping employees out of harm's way. A Wisconsin worker who suffers bodily injury while performing his or her job duties may require assistance in recovering from their damages. A person may seek help in collecting workers’ compensation benefits and ensuring that additional safety measures are installed to help protect other employees from the same injury.
