Dog bite in Wisconsin being investigated by police

Reports coming out of Wisconsin indicate that the police are looking for a woman whose dog has bitten another woman. The Sheboygan Police have put out a request for anyone with information about the dogs in question or their owner to contact them. They also asked the owner herself to contact them as soon as possible.

According to a lieutenant with the police force, the bite happened right by Superior Avenue and 22nd. Two people were believed to be walking the dogs at the time. One was a woman who is said to be about 50, and the other is a boy who is said to be about 15. Another woman was walking along the road, passing them, when one of the two dogs allegedly bit her. It is said that they are dogs that are related to the Boxer breed, though it is unclear if they are purebred. The woman was bitten on her arm.

The police lieutenant also said that the woman did stop to talk to the victim and check on her after the bite. Apparently, the woman who was bitten had not yet noticed that the dog's teeth had cut her, breaking the skin.

After a dog attack, someone who was bitten may need medical treatment, such as stitches to close the wound or a test to ensure that they do not have rabies or an infection. These medical procedures could get expensive. Those who have been bitten needs to look into their right to compensation, which may be owed them by the owner of the dog that was responsible for the attack.
