Cargo forces truck to overturn, no one appears injured

To most people, a truck accident usually involves a negligent or sleepy driver at the wheel. While this isn't necessarily wrong in many truck accidents, there are plenty of other circumstances that could be involved in a wreck. Today's story is a perfect example of that, even though no other vehicle was involved in the wreck except for the semi-truck.

The truck in this case was carrying some heavy metal piping, and it was attempting to navigate a bend in the road. As it was going through the bend, witnesses say the cargo in the trailer "visibly shifted" and that it forced the vehicle to tumble over. The truck ended up on the shoulder of a freeway. Thankfully, it appears that no one was injured.

Cargo is an often-overlooked aspect to truck accidents. It can play a huge role in a crash, especially if it wasn't loaded properly or if the truck driver did not operate his or her vehicle in a safe manner, given the weight the vehicle was hauling. If cargo does play a role in a crash where people are injured, those injured parties could seek compensation from the truck driver and/or company (depending on how the investigation plays out) in the form of a personal injury lawsuit.

Another element to remember is the truck itself. Had it been maintained? Was it recently inspected for safety? Was it in good working condition, or did the truck company allow the driver to take an unsafe vehicle out on to the road? These are all important to the case at hand.
