Wisconsin car accidents often blamed on excessive driving speeds

Distracted driving, speeding and failing to adhere to traffic signs are common causal factors in Wisconsin motor vehicle collisions. Car accidents continue to occur on the busy roadways of the state, and many innocent victims suffer injury due to the negligence of others. A recent incident involving two vehicles resulted in the death of the driver deemed responsible and injury to another.

Apparently, the car the now-deceased man was driving was traveling at an excessive rate of speed. At some point, the vehicle veered out of its westbound lane and careened into another vehicle heading east. The other vehicle involved was a dump truck, and the driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The man behind the wheel of the car going the wrong way did not survive the accident. Authorities say that an investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time. The injuries suffered by the 47-year-old dump truck operator were said to be non-life threatening.

Even minor injuries suffered in Wisconsin car accidents can have long-lasting negative effects on victims' lives. Many times, repeated medical visits are needed for full recovery. Such care is often expensive, and a recovering victim may not be prepared to meet the cost. In such situations, it is often beneficial to file a personal injury claim against the party deemed responsible for the crash in order to seek compensation for damages. If that person did not survive the collision, the claim may be filed against the decedent's estate.
