Wisconsin car accidents often lead to personal injury claims

Motor vehicle collisions often occur in Wisconsin that leave victims financially strained due to expenses sustained during recovery. Depending on the circumstances of an individual situation, such car accidents may lead to personal injury claims being filed in civil courts. A recent crash involved two occupants in an off-road vehicle that resulted in injury and death.

The accident occurred at around 3 p.m. on a recent Sunday. A 29-year-old man was apparently behind the wheel of the utility vehicle when it crashed. Traveling as a passenger at the time was a 21-year-old woman. It appears that at some point, the off-road vehicle seems to have hydroplaned on a patch of wet ground along the trail.

When the vehicle entered a hydroplane, it began to rollover and came to a halt on top of the occupants. The young lady was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her fellow traveler did not survive his injuries.

An investigation was launched following the tragedy and may still be ongoing at this time. In Wisconsin and all other states, when car accidents result in injuries and those responsible have died as a result of the collisions, injury claims may be filed against the estates of the decedents. Recovering victims often rely on court-awarded compensation to help meet the costs of medical care and other related expenses. To begin the process of filing a claim, a personal injury lawyer may be contacted to review the situation and determine the maximum amount of recovery that one should consider pursuing.
