Serving Injured And Disabled Clients In Minnesota and Wisconsin

Car accidents like this one sometimes lead to lawsuits

When a motor vehicle collision occurs in Wisconsin, or any other state, those involved may be faced with exorbitant costs in its aftermath. Medical care rendered at the scene, emergency transport to a hospital, as well as any care provided at a medical facility or in the weeks or months that follow can cause serious financial strain that surviving victims and their families may be unprepared to meet. Not all car accidents involve more than one vehicle, of course. Some, as one that occurred recently in Menomonie, are single vehicle collisions that have devastating results.

The recent Saturday morning incident resulted in injuries to several people. Sadly, there was also a fatality in the crash. A spokesperson for the local sheriff's department said the three who were injured were transported to a hospital in a nearby area for treatment. The other victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The sheriff's office also reported that an investigation into the collision remains active at this time. Preliminary results suggest the driver of the vehicle may have been traveling at excessive speeds just before the tragic crash occurred. The name of the deceased victim has not been released to the public. This is not uncommon in situations where next of kin have yet to be contacted regarding a loved one's unexpected death.

When investigations of Wisconsin car accidents determine that driver negligence was a causal factor, those who survive their injuries often pursue justice by filing personal injury claims in civil court. An immediate family member is typically  able to take similar action on behalf of a victim who did not survive a crash. Maximum compensation may be sought as monetary recovery for losses sustained in such situations.
