Wisconsin car accidents: 1 dead, 2 injured in crash

Wisconsin drivers spend a significant amount of time in their vehicles, going from one place to another. Many miles are traveled without incident, for the most part. However, when car accidents occur, they can result in injury or even death. A recent crash in Walworth County claimed the life of one person and injured two others.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office reported that an accident had occurred on the morning on June 5. A 32-year-old man was driving east and did not stop at a stop sign. His vehicle struck a southbound car that was driven by a 47-year-old man. The southbound lane did not have a stop sign.

The passenger of the southbound vehicle, a 39-year-old woman, was killed by the impact of the crash. According to the Medical Examiner's Office, she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The drivers of both cars were transported to a local hospital and were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Unit and the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office continue to investigate the accident.

In many cases, car accidents could have been prevented if someone had not exhibited negligent behavior, such as failure to stop at a stop sign. Family members of an accident victim may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the party believed responsible. An experienced Wisconsin personal injury attorney can provide guidance through the litigation process. While the life of a loved one cannot be replaced, a favorable outcome in a lawsuit can provide compensation that can help cover funeral costs and other unexpected losses.
