Wisconsin car accidents: 3 dead after head-on crash

Vacations with family and friends are much-anticipated events for many Wisconsin residents. Getting away from everyday routines and obligations is often a welcome relief in the summer. Three residents of Twin Cities were recently headed toward their annual getaway. Car accidents were likely the furthest things from their minds. However, a crash on the interstate proved fatal for the three men.

A 27-year-old man, a 29-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were traveling one evening in a gray vehicle on I-94 in the western part of the state, headed to a friend's cabin. Dunn County police report that a black car had crossed the median and was driving on the wrong side of the road. After driving about three miles, the black car struck the gray car carrying the three men.

The impact caused the car to catch on fire. Debris from the crash was scattered across the road and nearby area. The three men in the gray car were killed instantly, according to reports. The driver of the black car was airlifted to a local hospital and was treated for serious injuries. The accident is still being investigated by authorities.

When loved ones have been killed in car accidents by the negligent behaviors of other people, the tragedy is magnified since it likely could have been prevented. Families in similar situations may decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the person responsible for the accident. A Wisconsin personal injury lawyer can provide valuable guidance to someone who chooses to pursue the litigation process. An experienced lawyer will work with clients to achieve a successful outcome in the case, which could provide compensation to survivors for funeral costs and other expenses associated with the accident.
