Car accidents: 5 injured in chain reaction crash

As with many things in life, one action can set off a chain reaction of events. This is certainly the case when it comes to car accidents. Often, the action of one driver can have far-reaching effects on the other drivers and vehicles on the roads. A chain reaction of crashes recently occurred in an eastern county of Wisconsin.

Sheboygan County police officials report that four vehicles were involved in an incident in the Town of Rhine. Following the accident, numerous citations were given to the drivers involved. In addition, five people sought treatment at nearby hospitals.

According to reports, two cars and a pickup truck were traveling southbound. Both cars had slowed down, preparing to turn east onto another road. The pickup truck, which was towing a car with a trailer, then rear-ended the second car and sent it into the northbound lane, where it struck another vehicle. The trailer being hauled was detached after the pickup truck crashed into the first car.

The pickup truck driver, who was cited for inattentive driving, and the two passengers were all injured in the crash. Drivers from two other vehicles involved also suffered injuries. The driver of one car and a child passenger in another vehicle were not injured. Other citations issued to drivers included operating with a revoked license and operating with a suspended license. The incident remains under investigation.

Inattentive driving, distracted driving or other negligent behavior can often lead to car accidents. Should someone become injured as a result of another person's negligence, he or she may wish to file a personal injury lawsuit. A successful lawsuit could provide someone with compensation to help offset medical bills, therapy or loss or wages. A Wisconsin personal injury attorney can help clients with the complexities of the legal process and work toward achieving a favorable outcome in a lawsuit.
