Wisconsin laws in place to reduce chances of some car accidents

On behalf of Tom Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick, Skemp & Associates, LLCposted in Car Accidents on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

After the tragic deaths of 20 people in a limo crash in another state, there have been questions about the laws pertaining to these vehicles in Wisconsin. Many of the regulations regarding vehicle licences are in place to help reduce the chances of car accidents. While every state has different requirements, none of them can completely prevent these wrecks.

According to Wisconsin’s Department of Motor Vehicles, the licensing requirements for limo drivers varies according to the type of vehicle and its passenger capacity. For those vehicles under 26,000 pounds, and a passenger capacity of under 16, a driver is required to have a noncommercial license. It was noted that individual cities may have additional laws in place.
